We all would hate to think that our travels might be ruined by rainy weather but let's be realistic, IT IS ALWAYS A POSSIBILITY!

I like to go prepared. There are certain things you need not bother to pack if there is a good possibility you won't end up using it, and unless you are going to the middle of no where, you can always buy what you need if you really need it. Having a small umbrella and/or pancho is not a bad idea. They are compact and very portable. So why not pick one up before you leave home.

If you are like me, I love going to Target for so many things! Target is most often fairly priced but when I went looking for a mini umbrella and pancho I found them to be overpriced! A reusable pancho was going for $22 and the umbrella was going for $15! The biggest problem was that there were not options to choose from. Perhaps, if I was in the market for a high quality travel umbrella and pancho then, yes, they would be worth my money. Unfortunately, objects such as these tend to get ruined or lost. Lucky for me I happened to find some great quality ones at IKEA. I laid about $3 for each! Now that was a bargain! They even had inflatable travel pillows for just as cheap. I remember loving the one I had before but must have misplaced it so I picked up another. No one likes falling asleep on a airplane with out head support, everyone knows the head bobbing or neck pain that comes with that.

A towel is not always needed if you know you can rent one from a hostel or if they are provided by a hotel. If you know you will need to provide your own I highly recommend a microfiber towel! I spent about $22 for a large one but if you plan to travel a lot it is completely worth it. It saves you from sacrificing so much space in your bag, check in or carry on!
